That was Jefferson Airplane’s version. Alternatively, we have the original by Buffalo Springfield:Sounds just a whole lot similar, huh? Anyway, two slightly different versions of an excellent song. Airplane was at the same concert, so obviously it was a cover on their part later.

I like the top version better but i dont like the video. I think someone should do an alternative video for this song show pictures from the Teaparty and such.

OK guys, here’s the irony. That song was originally associated with the anti war movement. It stood as a warning against government tyranny that was in those days associated with conservatives. The liberals of the time embraced the sentiments of the song very seriously.
Today, it’s reversed. The so called “conservatives” are the ones engaging in independent thought and questioning authority while the “liberals” are engaging in government tyranny. I think it’s time to change the labels. I like the old term Free Thinker. Any ideas?
