Did you ever stop to think

About the animal symbology of the political parties? Once they truly meant what they represented. Now ONE does, the other not so much.

The Elephant. Large, powerful, the herd stays together and protects not only each other but their territory as well. They do what they want, they move on to better pasture when the existing is used up there, coming back when it regrows because they’re smart enough to know it will. They stake out a territory, and nobody else better mess with it. Or any of them, because they WILL stomp you into mud if you mess with them.

Those who capture elephants when small can guide them, however. They get them when they’re very young, and make them dependent on the handlers for food, etc. As they grow, they are trained to do what the handler tells them, and they do it pretty much without question. If mishandled however, and they get pissed enough at whatever is bothering them, they can revert to wild really fast. So if the handler doesn’t treat them right and care for them, they will turn.

The Jackass, bred for slavery. Beat it, whip it, it doesn’t know any better. Aggression has been bred out of it. So long as the handler feeds it, it happily takes its harness and plods on. If the handler doesn’t feed it, and it has no wild pasture to graze, it dies.

You make up your own mind about the applicability of that thought.

When are the Elephants going to revert?

    Ahhh, good old Thomas Nast:

While true that back then, people thought of elephants as timid and dumb, science has proven otherwise ;)

Science has also affirmed our knowledge of the donkey.

As for me, I’m an Aggie, and we REVERE elephants. I hope they revert soon.
