    Damn…Chris, what guns does he like? Haven’t got my Mosin yet, waiting for a sale. In your honest opinion, what would be an ideal choice? M1A? That did make me laugh a bit….

    Everything he spoke was, I’m sure, in jest. Each and every firearm has its purpose for which IT seems particularly suited. I’ve got Mosins, I’ve got Mausers, AK, SK, tons of things that are “This one is for todays purpose”. If I had to wean it down to one gun? Damn. There are 2 that I will never part with, and that not because they the ideal weapon, but sentiment. The Mosin M-38 is probably, in my eyes, the absolute best deal in firearms that can be purchased if funds are tight and you want a gun that will do damn near everything. Not the prettiest, not the most accurate (but pretty damn good), not the most powerful (but plenty of oomph for anything in the lower 48).

    Fighting tool? AK. Tool being the operative word. http://www.ioinc.us is a damn good place to start.

    I watch a Mosin make history out of a cement block. Yeah Bro…I was definitely impressed. You can get them for a hundred bucks. I am a very patient man.
    Lower forty-eight….? I’d hate to be a moose or grizzly on the receiving end of one of those buggers. Gawd!

    Agreed. It is a very very good round. 308/30-06 goodness in a far less expensive package.
