    As to Armed Geek’s contribution

plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose, the more things change the more they stay the same.

    From the article:

Their job, according to the court papers in the case, was ”to search and develop ties in policy making circles” in the United States.

This type of shit has been going on since the 1930′s at least. Too many people at that time were either complicit or credulous as to the threat. I don’t have to tell you who was in control at the time.

The surprising thing is that the regime did a damn thing about it. But then again they may subsequently throw the prosecution(as FDR/Truman Justice did in the Amerasia/Service case) to appease the tinpot czar wanna be Putin when he stomps off and says he will walk away from Obama’s “magnum opus”(the recently negotiated START treaty) in order to get the spies back.

I can’t get by the fact that this may have been another dog and pony show that will be “handled” at a later date.

Elena Kagan, this position should absolutely disqualify her with no other considerations:

“‘Kagan wrote an appreciation of Justice Marshall in 1993. In that publication, she stated, “…in Justice Marshall’s view, constitutional interpretation demanded, above all else, one thing from the courts: it demanded that the courts show a special solicitude for the despised and disadvantaged. It was the role of the courts, in interpreting the Constitution, to protect the people who went unprotected by every other organ of government—to safeguard the interests of people who had no other champion. The Court existed primarily to fulfill this mission. . . . And however much some recent Justices have sniped at that vision, it remains a thing of glory.”[14]

If this remains her position it means she has a prejudicial mind set based on factors other than the law and how it applies. Later in the article cited she tries to walk this position back but the question is never asked(at least according to the article) that she repudiates this “social justice” rubric of Justice Marshall or what caused the epiphany that Marshal was stone dead wrong.

Oh and Big Sis screws the pooch again:

Washington (CNSNews.com) – Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, whose agency is charged with securing America’s borders, told an audience in Washington, D.C., in reference to the U.S.-Mexico border, “You’re never going to totally seal that border.

Because of course we should never implement a policy because it is not 100% effective.
That’s called letting the perfect be the enemy of the good and it is a logical fallacy. Especially since nothing designed by man can survive incompetence or willful negligence.

Do you think that Obama would put any of his agenda on hold because it doesn’t accomplish everything perfectly? And maybe some one should query the ruling junta if they can’t perform something as simple(and is is relatively simple) putting guards on the border how are they gonna find 12 million invaders to give them tax payer subsidized “Obamacare”.

They can’t find the 8 million jobs they lost(VP Bitme) They can’t find 12 million invaders. they can’t find <0's birth certificate. They can't find a copy of the Arizona law or the constitution to find out what's in them. You get the feeling this bunch can't find it's ass with it's hands?

You're right, Chris. Aggie hits a lot of stuff. Like with a lot of your posts that was only the tip of the iceberg.

And the quantity of ice beneath the surface is far greater. THAT’S the part that ruptures hulls and causes ships to be lost.

Oh, and speaking of planted since the late 20′s/early 30′s, lets look again at the intent behind the GDP vs ND ratio once again. Intentional? Influenced? Hmmm.

    It’s intentional.

The people around him are neo-Keynesians who believe in focused spending even if you have to go into deficit to make it work. The fact that they forgot that this type of policy was a miserable failure when first tried during the ’30′s is not a case of having a senior moment.

This policy has been discredited more as time goes on and the stagflation of late 70′s should’ve been the wooden stake though the heart of Keynesianism which since it creates “central planning” is just another form of economic socialism. These people know that Keynesian economics was a failure. They count on the fact that you didn’t learn that in the god awful public schools or have actually paying attention since you got out.

Tom Sowell blasts the so called miracle of the New Deal on a regular basis and it is through reading him that I remembered this article

    http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucla/FDR-s-Policies-Prolonged-Depression-5409.aspx

In it they claim New Deal Policies extended the Depression by seven years.

They know this shit didn’t work but in their vanity and arrogance they think by some miracle they can make it work.

As I said to Lemur King at the 2A post, “man’s a genius”. POTUS material? I think so. Sowell/Palin? Sowell/Bachmann?

Sowell would be great. He has the economics and social policy down as any one who has read his columns and longer works would know.

The only negative is he will be 80 tomorrow. He still has the fastball but that age is fairly fragile no matter how spry you might be.

Just for you(and all your readers).

Thomas Sowell on the McDonald v Chicago case. Enjoy

Truth. And thus, the shame of it. Why is it that wisdom comes at such a cost in years?
