All we can hope is that the new majority that we expect to manifest itself on November 2nd will have the same single mindedness(that Robert Fibbs describes in the opening) in rolling back the destruction that has been wrought on this country by the NDSWP.
They have been blatant in their hatred for this country and have worked non stop to both destroy this nation and obscure their obviously hateful and vindictive intentions.
They want class warfare. The only problem is that the lines may not be drawn in the way they think. It will be the ruling class(including the accommodationist republicans) and their fellow travelers and their wards against the so-called country class whom have had enough of being pissed on and forced to finance their own subjugation.
The new majority has to disabuse the elite of the notion of a national government and return the object back to the original idea of a federal government i.e a government of confederated sovereigns whose sole object is mutual defense, external border integrity, protection of the natural rights of men and maintenance of mutual and consensual free trade among it’s members(the original meaning of the commerce clause).
They also have to cut the umbilical cord that has attached itself from Washington to our wallets in order to redistribute our assets to buy votes of those who gain their sustenance at our expense and then demand more as elitists destroy the private sector that provides them with bloated paychecks and benefits.
When someone can demand more of my hard earned income and I have to give it to them or face punishment that makes me their de facto slave. The new majority has to start reversing this idea and make it known that those who get tax payer money are our servants and not our masters. And that rationalized theft, which morally the imposition of taxes on one for the benefit of the other is, is just that, theft.
The mindset that pervades the so called progressive stems from the dubious passage of the sixteenth amendment which gives the National government a first lien on your income to finance whatever convoluted and constitutionally dubious spending. This was the crown jewel of the progressive movement as it enshrines ant expropriation of assets that can be politically justified and backed up by the monopoly on force wielded by the state.
As John Marshall said in Mc Culloch vs Maryland “the power to tax is the power to destroy” and the current ruling junta has and is going to continue to use this power along with the more subtle costs imposed by the arbitrary whims of unelected bureaucrats, to advance it’s twisted agenda of freedom destruction and the inculcation of economic dependence.
And it must be stopped. There are, of course, those who absolutely love this form of intrusion in all things. This intrusion is not what made America great, and our steady decline (hastened by this latest incarnation) reflects this.
