So, last night we were discussing “Posse Comitatus”
That being the Federal law regarding the use of the military in civilian law enforcement. Will THAT be the straw that breaks the camel’s back to finally trigger the OATH? To support and defend the Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC? By that token, every city that has passed laws disarming their citizens should have triggered a response based upon the 2A. If a law should be passed to disarm the people, that is in DIRECT violation of the Constitution and must result in the removal of those responsible.
Okay, that off my chest let’s look at some other fun stuff. Like, for example, O’bullshit’s SOTU. This thing I’m about to link is from Victoria Jackson. She was, way back when, SNL. She still uses a bit of light hearted humor to make her point, but by God she’s taken the conservative bent! And my GOD was she hot! She still is, but boy howdy was she! And let me put in one of her YouTubes: Definitely click that link, it’s well worth your time.
In other news, and much to the detriment of our continued struggle in the 2A movement, Rest In Peace Aaron Zelman. This man was the founder of JPFO, one of the strongest voices around, by far, in the struggle to keep the 2A inviolate. This voice will be sorely missed. WHO, more than the Jewish community, should recognize the NAZI implications of Gun Control?
When Aaron and co-author Jay Simkin released their book, “Gun Control: Gateway to Tyranny,” my father was initially not enthusiastic. While he appreciated much of what Zelman and Simkin had to say and agreed that much of their rhetoric was compelling, he felt that their assertion that the Gun Control Act of 1968 was derived directly from Hitler’s Nazi gun-control laws of 1938 was an overreaching exaggeration.
Dad ate his words on that one as Zelman and Simkin produced proof that Connecticut Senator Thomas Dodd, author of GCA ’68, did indeed have a copy of the Nazi laws and had requested and received a full translation of those documents from the Library of Congress.

I used to really like the “Ask the Rabbi” section of their website. The Talmudic approach to resolving anything from basic questions about guns in general to the ethics of self defense were great.
I’ve always been amazed at the use of abstract logic in legal arguments. Maybe the real problem with the 2nd Amendment is that it’s just too straight forward.
Paraphrasing slightly: Since it’s a good idea for the citizens of the U.S. to be proficient in the use of firearms for the common defense, there will be no laws limiting those citizens in the acquisition or use of those firearms.
The founding fathers really said it best and much more simply than I just did.
Amendment II – A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
If you want to answer the question as to whether or not “people” in the 2nd Amendment is collective or individual, go through the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, noting where and how either a capital or a lower case “p” is used. Note: your first two guesses don’t count assuming you’re at least as literate as a 3rd grader. Much too simple for a lawyer.
Oh yeah, even Congress figured it out back in 1982.

The Right to Keep and Bear Arms
REPORT

SUBCOMMITTEE ON THE CONSTITUTION
of the
UNITED STATES SENATE
NINETY-SEVENTH CONGRESS
Second Session
February 1982
But, Dr. Jeff, that was so yesterday, you know? Idiots learn nothing from anything, and have to stick their fingers back in the wall socket.
Yesterday – oh no! That is nothing more than understanding and appreciating the principles that are the foundation for our country. I like being a citizen of a rich, powerful country. I’ve seen enough of how a second rate country lives on cockroaches and I like flush toilets.
The Bill of Rights is even more than just enumerated rights of the people. It lays down principles for the relationship of the populace with each other, as well as legal guidance. All those things, working together along with the people that came here to make a new life in a new country and the nice piece of real estate we got have made us rich and powerful. I don’t like seeing it thrown away by people who think a principle runs a school.
Agreed and understood. People should need to write an essay on each and every portion of the Constitution before being allowed to run for any office down to city dog catcher, and provide their LFBC, or their naturalization forms at a minimum, to prove they’re Americans. Only ONE job in this country requires NATURAL BORN, and we know which one that is don’t we?
