Argue with Geert Wilders. You remember him, don’t you? Dutch Parliament, attacked for not being politically correct? TRIED in court. For not being politically correct. How about some specifics, eh?
I’ve hear the argument made that Islam is not so much a religion as it is a system of political control. I found it a persuasive argument.
One more thought.
Barak the Great spent some of his most formative years attending a Madrassa in Indonesia. How much of the Islamic beliefs he was taught (including the fine art of lieing for the Islamic cause, aka Takiya) guide his behavior as POTUS?

Dr. Jeff, As I see it, to say it’s a political system implies that it is merely a political system. It is a combination political system/religion. It’s also a religiously/politically enforced economic system, a religiously/politically enforced social system, and a religiously/politically enforced class (or caste) system.
It’s comparable to communism in that, in communisms, political ideology becomes religion, and politics controls economy, society, culture, and the most extreme class system known outside of the old hindu caste system.
They’re basically the same thing — totalitarianism.
As for Obama’s stealth Muslimhood, I found a strange thing about the time of the Egyptian troubles. The Egyptian “protests” (or whatever you want to call it) took place in Tahrir Square. Tahrir means “Liberation”. Obama made this connection in a speech (or press conference — whatever, I don’t ever watch the guy).
That said, I’d ask everyone here to google “Hizb ‘ut Tahrir”. You should get a Wikipedia entry (assuming it’s still there). Pay special attention to the word Tahrir, or “Liberation”, and how it’s used. See if you find that Muslims [and perhaps Obama] have a radically different idea of what “Liberation” means than you or I have.
Tyranny the easy way, wrapping it up in “religion”. But it’s still tyranny.

That is pure insanity, Drew. Speak documented truth and get convicted of “hate speech”. Time to insist on forbearance to law, as opposed to this stupidity that they believe in. If it’s provable, bust them and punish them. Truth is not “hate speech”, it’s truth. Just because it’s a raghead doesn’t mean it’s not true. I’ll probably get more spam from that, but you should have seen it. It was all about how it was okay for them to follow Shariah but not for us to live.

Yes Dr Jeff and Samsapeel are exactly correct when they make the point that Islam is a totalitarian ideology with a thin veneer of religiosity. They(the Islamists) couldn’t have planned that any better as the reason Islam gets a pass is the reticence of civilized people to question someones “religion”. However Islam, as has been stated, is an all encompassing system that ignores the individual for the “general will” as expostulated by Muhammed. I have many doubts that it’s was Allahto whom he was he was talking as it fits right in to the many subsequent murderous “isms” that have popped up over the course of time and why it seems to fit so seamlessly with those on the nihilist left. The collective is all. Those who don’t accept that premise are dehumanized and eliminated.
This is the type of speech that gets the whole weight of the european nanny state to actually take action
Now fortunately Wilder’s was “acquitted” in this case but in the explication of the decision are seeds of further confiscation of the right to speak the truth to this virulent and imperialist paradigm.

That is highly disturbing. The cultural confidence of europe is eroding at such a rapid pace that as Mark Steyn says it won’t be Iran with the next “muslim bomb” but it may end up being France. Now that was a couple of years ago and Sarkozy has stanched the flow somewhat but considering what we know of French history they are going to need someone to be the cultural equivalent of Charles Martel very soon.

We are facing multiple enemies who have never embraced (muslims) or eschewed(the left) the main tenets of western civilization, tolerance and individual sovereignty. Instead we are bombarded with atavistic notions of collectivism and rule by self ordained elites and told it is “progress”. The last truly innovative idea for ordering a society was accomplished in the time period from 1775 thru 1791(this DOES NOT include what happened in that Rouseauian nightmare called the “French Revolution-the prototype revolution for the ascension of every two bit murdering despot since). Everything else has been designed to re-harness the people to whims of a decadent and depraved elite.
