So, Gen Patraeus is now the CIA Director, eh?
Found this thing at Alan Caruba, and I found some interesting thoughts there. For example, if he now has access to intel, well, let us look at this first point:
A key to understanding Patraeus is his devotion to an oath that requires obeying his commander-in-chief’s orders, advising both Bush and Obama candidly behind closed doors, and defending their decisions in public. This is the way all military operate, for good or ill, as regards the outcome of any war.
How many times have I referenced the OATH? How many? Hell, I don’t remember. But first and foremost is the Constitution. And defending it against ALL enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC!
Did he take the post because he sold out, or did he make it LOOK like he sold out to get the position so he can utilize it, OR any of a number of variants on either of those two thoughts? Hmmmm, the possibilities are endless.
Sir, following the orders of the POtuS are secondary to defending the Constitution. We The People may but pray that that is your reasoning. Don’t wait too long. You now know, or should know, all of it, on everybody. Fix this shit, sir. This is your duty as an American, and your ability in your position.
