Here’s a thinker for you

Where do you think we are in this cycle? Climbing or descending? Coming back up, or going down?

    From apathy to dependence.

We have been at his stage for a while as the government and especially under Obama constrain and undermine private enterprise with more rules and more taxes in order to inculcate that dependence; that life in this country is so complicated that you need government help. Of course what it is hidden is your life has been needlessly complicated by the government because of governments nature: that it must always be expanding it’s power.

We are in a nascent fascism as the government places more and more restrictions and requirements upon you and take more control of things the are not entitled to control. As De Toquevilles said:

Thus it every day renders the exercise of the free agency of man less useful and less frequent; it circumscribes the will within a narrower range and gradually robs a man of all the uses of himself. The principle of equality has prepared men for these things;it has predisposed men to endure them and often to look on them as benefits.

After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd.

Cass Sunstein couldn’t have said it better as they nudge us into the cattle chute.

John Adams said our constitution is for a good and moral people it is adequate for no other. I will add one thing to this. Our constitution was made for a people of good faith and restraint as this document was revolutionary in the concept that government was to guarantee rights granted by a higher authority and not aggrandize it’s power at the expense of the people. That they were the stewards not the shepherds of the people’s birthright.

This has been put asunder by people of moral turpitude and bad faith. Cynical miscreants who purposefully misinterpret, redefine or outright ignore the principles enshrined in the framing of the constitution. It is this deceit and conceit along with our own negligence that has led us to this point. We need strength and perseverance to right the ship of state. It is a long journey to rectitude but as the Chinese philosopher once said the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Our first step was November 2010 the next happens Novemeber 6th.

As long as you’re breathing it’s never too late.

And to what end do the dreams of man come to life before God and America? Their image stained by the blood of worriers sent to battle the lies of a few bad men who deny their image is not God made but God damned.

    Well said. Both.

We’re on the downside. We can still stop it, but it’s going to be tough.

We’ve discovered we can vote money for ourselves from the public treasury. Oops.

Precisely, Dr Jeff. Let us hope the people are sufficiently fed up.

    We’re winning.

Wisconsin turned down the recall and set the unions on their asses.

Diane Feinstein running virtually unopposed in the Democrat primary only got 49.3% of the vote!

Even Democrats are starting to wake up.

Dr. Jeff, I am going to hang onto your enthusiasm….otherwise, I’d say we are in deep shit.
However, come to think of it…we did have someone stand up very tall to do the right thing…think it was yesterday?

Illinois rep EXPLODES on the House floor! IT’s ALL FALLING APART…

    yup

We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore.

    It’s spreading.

This has been the era of the Tea Party and OWS. As different as they are, both come from the same idea. The system is FUBAR and we, the People, are going to take it back.

I’m actually feeling good about future possibilities for the first time in years.

This is the time we’ve got to push harder than ever. There’s nothing worse than a goal line fumble.

    Roger that, Dr Jeff.

In my humble (and I mean HUMBLE) opinion…we are not yet to the bottom…but it is very very close. THEN WE BEGIN OUR ASCENT BACK UP!

It won’t be the conventional ascent, unfortunately….it will be quick and over night! That is ONLY a feeling with not one thing to back me up.

  11. 06/08/2012 07:11

    *AHEM* Right.

  12. 06/08/2012 23:18

That was very diplomatic of you, CM.
    Smiling.
