Martian sunrise...

(Click to embiggenify.)

Sunrise, on another planet, from an American spaceship. This is beyond inspiring for the human race.

    Interesting, eh?

Can’t help it…it does give me hope that somehow, some way, we will clean up OUR world… and I’m not talking about the dirt. I am referring to all of the hate…and violence towards those who want to live in peace.

Did you see Apollo 18? Very interesting…little disturbing too.

    No, but I’ve got Netflix.

It is disturbing. I didn’t do the research yet of those who were lost. I won’t ruin the movie for you by saying anything. That always reallly pisses me off when people do that!

I lose almost an entire night’s sleep every time they post fresh pics. The first real landscape they posted held me for 10 minutes, just looking and thinking about being on the surface of Mars. What a great accomplishment it is. Now we need to put men and women there.

I’ve been dreaming of stuff like this ever since I was a little kid.

Me too, brother. All the books about colonies, or for that matter a just plain habitation of “The Red Planet”. Heinlein, Asimov, etc.

A society without a goal past it’s immediate existence is a dying society.

I’d wiped out the entire Science Fiction section at the local library by the time I was 11 and I remember well when Sputnik electrified us.

Kennedy set us a great goal when he announced the beginning of the U.S. space program, let’s keep the dream alive.

    Roger that!
