Is such as this still taught in school?

02/24/2013

Jonolan has one of the best speeches EVER quoted in this post. This is exactly the sort of thing that todays teachers unions would do all in their power to delete from the curriculum I am sure. As for what I will quote of it, this is jonolans closure. The body you must read for yourself, as I can offer no more than this. Other than to say AYE!

And so, my fellow Americans, I openly, frankly, and honestly brand myself an “extremist” and likely “terrorist” in a mere 1143 words. For so will the Liberals and Progressives, the agents of Statism and subjugation label me for repeating and updating the words of Patrick Henry, which he spoke in St. John’s Church in Richmond, Virginia on March 20, 1775.

And yet, they are not utterly foolish to do so. The brave and inspiring words of Patrick Henry are as applicable now as they were in the final prelude to the Revolution because the Liberals and Progressives, and the politicians they’ve managed to install now fulfill exactly the same role as George III, his court, and the Royalists who supported them.

History repeat itself. The names, flags, slogans, and excuses may change, but the underlying struggle of Liberty against Tyranny remains the same. So too does the means to win that struggle remain the same.

One small point – I did not faithfully quote the original text. I removed the personal pronouns – the original was a rebuttal – and updated a few words and phrases here and there to update the context to modern circumstances.

Regardless, fantastic choice to work from.

As do we all by opposing this would be tyrant and his totalitarian toadies. We oppose all who would diminish our God given rights and presume to rule by force rather than govern by reason.

And for all those bien pensant civility fetishists in the RINO establishment and their mental masturbaters in their hatchet media complex.

“..the task of preserving and enlarging freedom at home and of safeguarding it from the forces of tyranny abroad is great enough to challenge all our resources and to require all our strength.

Anyone who joins us in all sincerity, we welcome. Those who do not care for our cause, we don’t expect to enter our ranks in any case. And — And let our Republicanism, so focused and so dedicated, not be made fuzzy and futile by unthinking and stupid labels.

I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.

And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

It’s time to live up to these words and stop cowering in the face of deceit. It has a long time passed that we call the dishonest in the ruling class on their mendacities and blood libels. It is time to declare those who ignore the rule of law and the ideals of the founding as the extremists as it is they who wish to change us into a populace of servile lemmings. It is they who pollute the ability of the population, through onerous exactions both monetary and regulatory, to make their way based on their abilties and best judgement.

It is time for their motives to be questioned as their vision not only does not deliver the promised prosperity but makes us more and more objects to be manipulated and not men to be reasoned with. How many times can the obviously false rationalization that their “motive were pure” be accepted when they try the same failed agenda over and over. At some point their alleged ignorance of the results becomes willful and malignant to the point of being manifestly anti-human.

It is these failures and the meek acquiescence of the so called opposition party(they are really just crotch sniffing wanna be’s) that need to be trumpeted as to the consolidation of ruling class prerogatives at the expense of the sovereign citizen.

Good continuance of the thought train. No, GREAT. Well said indeed.

Ah yes! “Their motives were pure” is just another wording for “The ends justify the means if the ends are [ believed to be ] just.” That’s the rub, isn’t it?

    *SIGH* Indeed.
