And is there the slightest chance that there could be a law

Stopping all these bullshit dictates from appointed section heads to fuck with our freedom? The Second Amendment is pretty clear to me. As it is clear the reason the government wishes to remove that very safety switch.

I have numerous foul words floating around my brain, but I will control myself.

Considering how surprising it was that the braces were legal only on a thin interpretation of how they were to be used, it’s not surprising. The application of the brace as a short buttstock was immediately obvious, perhaps more obvious than it’s application as a brace to be strapped to the shooter’s forearm.

I’ve often wonder how the whole area of Short Barreled Riles and detachable stocks for pistols became an issue 80 years ago when the laws were passed. They’re no more dangerous than anything else and actually harder to conceal. That whole area of the law should be scrapped.

I used to own a Mauser C96 with detachable butt and while it was neat and interesting, it really wasn’t anything special as a shooter.

I never got to play with that toy, but I heard it was only fair as a shooter.

It had a decent trigger, balance better than you’d expect with the magazine in front of the trigger and reasonable accuracy. The big problem was reliability. The first time I had it at the range, the rear sight broke off under recoil. After that got fixed, the firing pin broke in the middle of a magazine. Altogether, I don’t think I put 300 rounds through it before I needed cash more than an antique pistol.

Mechanically, it was like nothing else I’ve ever seen. The wooden stock was kind of neat, but didn’t help that much. On shear looks, it’s way up on the cool factor.

What I like about the old guns, almost every one has a unique way of working and assembly. Modern stuff is functional, but not really unique. There are too many attorneys and cost managers in the way.

P.S. Even though I didn’t think much of a pistol with a butt stock, I can see a shorty version of whatever they’re calling the AR15 or the AK having some good uses and advantages.

Ever see an M1 Carbine cut down to pistol length with a pistol grip and folding stock? At what you’d call personal distances, it’s a serious piece of work.

Oh yes, it is one of THE coolest looking guns on the planet!

Definitely! And this is why they don’t want us to have them.
